Easirent are a British-owned and family run business which began in 1999. Having grown to have offices at most UK airports, Easirent now have their sites set on the USA where they now have several offices across Florida.

Hire car terminology explained

Fuel policy (full to full vs full to empty)

The hire cars on our site always include a fair full to fuel fuel policy.

You'll be asked to hold a deposit for fuel on a credit card when you pick up the car. Ensure that you fill the rental up and return it full and there will be no additional fees for fuel.

You might find full to empty fuel policies on other sites that seem to be offering better deals. Be sure to check the small print for full to empty rentals as the refuelling and admin costs included with full to empty fuel policies make it much more expensive than full to full fuel policies.

Theft liability insurance (theft protection)

It covers the amount due if the rental car is stolen. It usually includes an excess , this means you would need to pay the first part of an insurance claim (normally between £800 to £2,500, depending on the car, the country and the deal.

If you choose to insure your excess with us, however, you'll be refunded for any or all of of the excess you have to pay (See our essential cover). Or with Premium Cover your excess can be reduced.

Additional driver costs

A rental contract is between the car hire company and the one individual that signs the contract and will be the main driver. This means you need to ask for other drivers to be added, this usually means an additional cost ( can be up to £13a day ). We often list promotions where extra drivers are free. Beware of being asked if you'd like to include a driver without being informed of the price.

Third party liability insurance

Third party liability insurance provides protection in case you cause an incident. If you do, it might injure or kill other people (such as your passengers, pedestrians or people in other vehicles), or damage their property (their vehicle, house or possessions, for example). Since they need to be protected, you'd be responsible any claim, or treating any injuries or financially covering their loss of earnings, as well as the third party's legal fees and court fees.

Third party liability is subject to an excess, this means you would have to pay the first part of any claim (usually between £850 to £2,000, varying dependent on the value of the car, the country and the deal). If you choose to insure the excess amount, you will be refunded for any or all of the excess amount you have to pay. If you decide to take out Premium Cover, your excess is often reduced to zero.

Damage Liability

It covers the car for accident damage in the same way the insurance you usually have on your personal car does. It includes an excess amount which you can insure separately (See Excess reimbursement insurance). Our website also list cars that include CDW with a zero excess

Essential Cover

Purchasing this policy means you'll be reimbursed for the excess you have to pay to the car hire company when you drop off the car.

Excess insurance also tends to cover other possible costs, like cleaning, towing, admin fees and misfuelling costs.

Car Rental excess

For rentals outside of the US and Canada there's usually an insurance excess held on your card* - this is similar to the excess on domestic car insurance in the UK. However, the excess on hire cars is high. It's often between £1,100 to £2,500. If you fail to insure the excess amount you could be liable to pay for damage up to the excess . Check out our Premium Cover hire car options if you'd prefer not to have a large amount blocked on your card when you pick up the car.

Hiring a Car with Easirent including Child Seats;

You can use your own child seats and booster seats for your car rental, so long as they meet the legal safety requirements for use in your car hire location.

You'll also be offered the opportunity to include them with your rental when making a booking on our website. Child seats and booster seats are paid in local currency when picking up the rental. Although it's highly unusual for them to be unavailable, their availability is not guaranteed by most car rental companies

How to Hire with Easirent with a Low Security Deposit

At the collection desk, you'll often be required to leave a security deposit on your credit card or debit card. Security deposits can vary significantly dependent on the size of the vehicle and the insurance excess . Car rental Security deposits can be anywhere between £50 and £2,500.

We compare all of the car hire options with a low security deposit and in some instances no deposit at all except for fuel. If you decide to book a rental with Premium Cover included, you're often able to reduce the deposit to cover only fuel (often less than £100), which is fully refunded to your card when the vehicle is returned with a full tank.

How to rent a car with Easirent including Unlimited Mileage;

Our website offers unlimited and limited mileage rentals.

Limited mileage rentals are often less expensive than unlimited. For limited mileage rentals, the mileage limit will always be clearly displayed. If you decide to book a rental including limited mileage, you will be liable to pay a per mile additional fee if you go above the daily allowance. The total mileage allowance for the rental duration is calculated as (the number of hire days multiplied by the daily mileage allowance). You don't have to remain within the daily allowance on every day, as long as the total miles used during the rental doesn't exceed the number of days X the daily limit.

If you decide to book a limited mileage rental, it's receommended to check the costs for excess mileage. You can find these in our term and conditions.

Easirent Car Hire without a credit card

You can pay for your car hire on our website using any credit or debit card, including Visa, Mastercard or American Express. We also compare car hire deals at 1000s of locations that accept a debit card on collection. You can quickly and easily find these by using the filters on the search results page or taking a look at our Premium Cover options on the extras page.

Easirent Car Hire with Cross Border Fees Included;

If you plan to pick up your rental and take it across the border into a different country, we strongly recommend to check the terms and conditions. Almost all car rental providers require that you let them know when you collect the car; and will charge extra fees to top up your insurance. If you do not let them know, you might find that your rental will not be insured if you take the rental into a different country.

Renting a Car With Easirent including Free Cancellation

All of the hire cars we list on our website include free cancellation. This means that you're able to cancel your booking and receive a refund at any point up until 48 hours before picking up the vehicle.

When you purchase our Essential Cover product to cover your car rental excess, you can cancel this with a refund anytime up until the rental start time( as printed on your rental confirmation email).

We process all refunds in less than 24 hours. If you have to cancel the booking, the refund will be back in your bank account in 7 days.

Hiring a car with Easirent including One Way Fees;

Many of the vehicle brands we work with allow you to collect the car in one location and return the car at a different location. If you've chosen a different drop off location for the rental, the prices on our website include all additional charges for this. You can also find a breakdown of the additional fees on the payment page.

Hiring a car with Easirent without an Excess Held on Your Credit Card

The excess is the amount you'd be liable to pay if the vehicle is severely damaged, written off or stolen. However, the excess on hire cars can be high. It's often between £1,000 to £2,100, depending on the car, the country and the deal. If you return the car damaged, or it's stolen or written off, you'll be required to pay some or all of the excess.

On collection of the car, the insurance excess is held on your credit card as a 'pre authorised' transaction. This means that the money isn't charged to your card as a normal payment, it's held as a pending payment until you drop off the car. You don't normally pay foreign currency fees on credit cards for pre authorised payments. As long as the rental car is dropped off in the same condition as when it was collected, this excess amount will be fully refunded to your credit card without anything additional to pay.

If you plan to pay by debit card, the excess will be taken from your account and refunded when the vehicle is dropped off. If you plan to use a debit card on collection, as the excess can be very high, we recommend to either buy Premium Cover when you book or to pay for top up cover at the collection desk.

Terms for car rental at Liverpool with Easirent

Driver Requirements

When collecting the vehicle, the lead driver must present the following:

  • Valid and clean driver's license
    (You must have had your license for at least 2 years, have no major endorsements in the past 5 years and have no at-fault insurance claims in the past 36 months. Minor offences such as speeding and traffic signals are acceptable up to a maximum of 6 points)
  • Credit or debit* card in lead driver's name
    (Your card must be in the lead driver's name and cannot expire in the month following your collection date.
    * If paying by debit card you must take out "Super Peace of Mind" cover at the collection desk, be 25 or older and also show proof of employment such as a wage slip. You may not use a debit card on luxury/premium vehicles (e.g. Mercedes C or E class, BMW 5 series) or on 9-seater passenger vans).
  • Booking confirmation email
  • UK Renters: DVLA License Summary Check Code and two proofs of home address
    (License summary report must have been issued in the past 72 hours. Proofs of address can be bank/card statement and/or utility bills, both dated no more than 3 months prior to your collection date)
  • Non-UK Renters: Passport, return flight information and, if your license is not written in English, an International Driver's Permit
  • Recommended: Proof of employment (e.g. wage slip)
    (Usually this is only asked for when paying by debit card but we recommend you have this ready just in case)

Security Deposit

When collecting your vehicle you will be required to leave a security deposit on your payment card.

Fuel Policy

Full to full - Your vehicle should be full when you collect and you will be charged a £95 deposit for this which will be refunded so long as you fill the tank up prior to returning the vehicle.

If you would prefer not to refuel when returning the vehicle, you can opt to pre-pay the fuel at the collection desk.

Mileage Policy

Limited

Your mileage is limited to 100 miles per day. Excess mileage is usually charged at 30p per mile except vans (20p per mile) or if you are travelling overseas (50p per mile).

You may upgrade to unlimited mileage at the collection desk or by choosing a product with premium cover (which Easirent call "Relax Zero")..

Fees and Taxes

All taxes are included in this rate.

Easirent charge a £75 admin fee following any theft or damage claims.

Vehicle Collection

Directions

Easirent operate a shuttle bus at this airport but we still recommend that you phone your collection office as you enter the arrivals hall as they will be able to advise on when the next bus is due. Easirent's directions are as follows...

Driver's License

Easirent will not rent vehicles to anyone aged less than 23 years old. All drivers must have had their license for at least 2 years and cannot have had any at-fault claims or accidents in the past 36 months.

If you have had any major endorsements, bans or convictions in the past 5 years you may be unable to rent. Minor offences such as speeding and traffic signals are acceptable up to a maximum of 6 points. Please contact us for clarification.

If you do not produce a valid DVLA license check code (issued in the past 72 hours), you will be charged £10 per driver to get the new code. You will be asked for your National Insurance number as part of this.

Credit/Debit Card

Easirent accept all major credit cards. Please ensure the card is in the lead driver's name and will not expire within 1 month of your collection date.

Debit cards are accepted but only when Easirent's additional insurance is purchased. You must also be 25 or older and show 2 proofs of address PLUS proof of employment (e.g. wage slip).

Cash is not permitted in any circumstance.

Rental Agreement

Once your paperwork has been inspected, you will be asked to sign a Rental Agreement. This is a contract between you and the car hire company and contains the terms and conditions for your rental. The agreement may include some location-specific conditions as well as setting out the limitations of any cover you have and the extra costs you may be liable for. You will be given the keys once you and any additional drivers have signed the agreement but don't rush, once you've signed you are legally bound to the terms of that document.

Cross Border Rules

Easirent vehicles hired in the UK may be taken to Europe (including Republic of Ireland) but you will have to pay a one-off charge of £125 plus £20 per day for the additional insurance. Travel between mainland UK and Northern Ireland is subject to the same charge. Also, the standard breakdown cover does not include cross-border travel so you must either show proof of additional Euro 5 star breakdown cover (purchased separately by yourself) or buy from Easirent at the collection desk.

Travel by ferry to the islands of the UK (Isle of Wight etc) is permitted but you may need to arrange additional breakdown cover if you travel to a location where Easirent do not have an office.

Note: Mileage: Please be aware that if your vehile is shown as having Unlimited Mileage, this does not apply when you take the vehicle across borders. All cross-border rentals are limited to 100 miles per day for the entirety of the rental.

Late Collection

Easirent ask that all customers contact their collection office as soon as they know they will be late. This is especially important if you will be late by more than 1 hour or arriving outside normal opening hours.

If you will be arriving after normal hours and the branch has agreed to remain open for you, please be aware that the standard Out Of Hours charge is £40 per hour.

Insurance and Cover

Included in the price

This product includes Collision Damage Waiver (CDW) with Theft Protection and Third Party Liability Cover. This means that you are insured for damage to or theft of the vehicle and also against any third party claims. Should there be a claim, you will be liable up to the value of the excess payment unless additional insurance is taken out.

Roadside Assistance is provided but you may be liable for the costs should you deemed to be at fault.

Exclusions

Easirent do not include coverage for damage to glass/windscreens or wheels and tyres in their standard or "Relax Zero" cover; for this you would need to purchase their separate "Tyre and Window" product at the collection desk.

It also does not include any Personal Insurance for you and your passengers which would cover you in the unfortunate case of injury, medical expenses and death, or loss of or damage to possessions when using the vehicle.

There is a damage administration fee of £75 which is charged following any damage to the vehicle (unless Easirents additional insurance is taken out).

Insurance Excess

This vehicle comes with basic cover for theft or damage to the vehicle.

Should there be any claims, you will be liable for up to £1500 inclusive of taxes.

Both Stress Free and the supplier offer excess protection products to provide extra cover for this.

Please pay attention to the procedure for reporting an incident which will be explained in your rental agreement at the collection desk. Failing to follow this procedure could result in you being liable for the full value of the claim.

Additional Info

Fuel Options

Depending on the supplier, you will typically have two choices when it comes to paying for fuel.

  • Full to Full: This is usually the most cost effective option. The vehicle will be fuill when you collect and you must fill it up again just prior to return. If you select this policy and do not re-fill the vehicle, the supplier will charge you for the fuel you have used at a price that is often higher than would be charged at a local service station.
  • Pre-paid: This is the most convenient option. You pre-pay your tank of fuel (including a service charge) which means you collect the vehicle full and can return it empty at no extra charge. Note that you will not be refunded for fuel you do not use. Some suppliers give us the "pre-paid" rate where we include this in your price but usually we offer "Full to Full" and you would ask to pre-pay your tank at the collection desk.

Additional Drivers

Additional drivers are added at the time of collection for £10 per day (or £7 per day for spouse or life-partners). All additional drivers are subject to the same identity and age requirements as the lead driver..

Other Extras

The supplier offers the following options for child and infant seats:

  • Baby Seat - for children aged 0 to 4 years. Prices are 1-4 days £16.99 per day, 5-11 days £13.99pd, 12+ days £10.99pd
  • Booster Seat - 4+ years. Prices are 1-4 days £10.99 per day, 5-11 days £8.99pd, 12+ days £6.99pd

GPS units are also available with prices as follows: 1-4 days £15.99 per day, 5-11 days £12.99pd, 12+ days £9.99pd

All extras should be requested as part of your booking and are paid for on collection. If you do book an extra but then wish to have it removed, you must inform Easirent prior to collection.

Changes to length of rental

On returning the vehicle you will have a 29 minute grace period for late returns before you will be charged for a whole, additional day's rental.

Once you have the vehicle, it may be possible to extend your rental by simpy phoning your return office but this is subject to vehicle availability.

General Terms

Cancellations
It is free to cancel your booking at any time until 48 hours before collecting the vehicle. Once within 48 hours of collection, you will not be able to cancel your booking and any payments made cannot be refunded.

Amendments
If you wish to make changes to your booking, you will most likely be required to cancel and rebook. There is no cost for cancellations. If you only wish to change your flight or phone number, you can email our customer services team on help@stressfreecarrental.com.

Refunds after vehicle collection
The suppler may refuse collection of your vehicle for reasons such as not being fit to drive, missing required identification or not having the correc type of payment card in the lead driver's name with sufficient funds available. In the event of such a refusal, no payments made will be refunded.

The supplier does not offer credit or refunds for early returns of the vehicle.

In the event of "Delayed Charges" (fines, motorway tolls, failing to refuel, extra days, damages, loss and any associated admin charges), your Security Deposit may only be part-refunded.

Vehicle Types
Unless we indicate a "guaranteed model", vehicles are reserved by class of vehicle and not by make and model. The vehicles displayed are the commonly used models for our partners in your chosen country. If that particular vehicle is not available, the supplier will typically offer another vehicle of the same or higher class at no additional cost.

Disabled Passengers
If you are travelling with disabled passengers, be sure to forward your confirmation email to help@stressfreecarrental.com with any special requirements and we will forward these to the supplier for you. We can't offer any guarantees that they will be able to help but we're happy to try. If you're collecting from an airport, providing your flight number will help.

Hiring a car during the COVID pandemic

During the COVID pandemic ensuring safety continues to be our highest priority. As before the crisis and throughout Stress Free Car Rental offer free cancellation with a full refund on all car rental including insurance. Throughout April and May, we've reduced the cancellation and refund time, we process all refunds within 24 hours of receiving a cancellation request - the funds clearing to the customer's credit card in less than a week.

Enhanced hire car cleaning and sterilisation processes at Liverpool United Kingdom

Our car hire partners have implemented extra cleaning procedures during the ongoing COVID pandemic. Here's an overview of the addional measures carried out.

Between rentals, Hertz and Thrifty are implementing a multi stage cleaning and sterilisation procedure, involving rigorous cleaning of the seats, door handles, steering wheel and keys.

Europcar are carrying out additional vehicle deep cleaning measures. Vehicle keys are also disinfected between all rentals and then kept in a sealed envelope once disinfected. A zero contact policy is in place at the pick up and drop off areas, with each rental desk cleaned between every customer interaction.

New processes are now in place with our car hire partner Greenmotion, involving the installation of protection screens and sanitiser units at collection locations. Employees are now wearing protective equipment such as masks and gloves. Each car is being thoroughly cleaned and sanitised between every rental.

Enterprise, Alamo and National locations in have implemented a complete clean pledge. This includes the deep cleaning each vehicle between every rental ,including disinfecting the car keys.
