At a glance
When collecting the vehicle, the lead driver must present the following:
- Driver's License
(You must have held your license for at least 2 years. For drivers whose license contains non-Latin characters, an International Driver's Permit is also required).
- Credit card in the lead driver's name
(All major credit cards accepted including American Express, Visa, Master Card and Diners. Must be valid for at least another 90 days after the end of your rental).
(A National Identity Card may also be used where you are from an EU/Schengen country)
- Booking confirmation email
(No need to print this, may be shown on your phone)
When collecting your vehicle you will be required to leave a security deposit of kn7320 HRK (approx. £872) on your credit card. This will be refunded on return so long as your vehicle is not stolen or damaged.
Your fuel options will be explained on collection. As a general rule you will save money choosing 'Full to Full' and filling the vehicle up yourself prior to its return.

Fees and Taxes
All taxes and environmental fees are included in this price.
Admin fees: Please also be aware that most suppliers charge administration fees following damages or for processing fines. Global charge a €30 administration fee for following any damages and a €10 admin fee for each parking/traffic infringement.
In Terminal: The collection desk is located within the airport terminal building. Follow the signs after passport control and baggage collection
When collecting the car, the lead and any additional drivers must present their full, valid driver's license. Photocopies are not accepted. All drivers must be between 21 (or 25 for larger vehicles) and 79 years of age - we only list vehicles that are available for the age you provided. All drivers must have had their license for at least 2 years prior to collection.
Your license must be written using only Latin characters or else you will also require an International Driver's Permit.
Global accept all major credit cards including Visa , Mastercard, American Express and Diner's. The card must be in the lead driver's name and cannot expire within 90 days of your return date. No other forms of payment (cash, cheque, debit or pre-payment cards) are accepted.
Once your paperwork has been inspected, you will be asked to sign a Rental Agreement. This is a contract between you and the car hire company and contains the terms and conditions for your rental. The agreement may include some location-specific conditions as well as setting out the limitations of any cover you have and the extra costs you may be liable for. You will be given the keys once you and any additional drivers have signed the agreement but don't rush, once you've signed you are legally bound to the terms of that document.
Cross Border Rules
Cross border travel to other countries is permitted but you may not travel to any of the following countries - Kosovo, Albania, FYR Macedonia, Greece, Romania, Bulgaria, Moldavia, Ukraine, Belarus, Estonia, Latvia, and Lithuania. The cost for cross-border travel is €50 per rental. Ferry travel within Croatia is also permitted - the cost for this is €20 per rental. Both may be booked at the counter but they advise you contact them in advance if you intend to travel to any "unusual" countires.
If you are delayed and will be more than 59 minutes late for collection or arriving near to closing time, Global ask that you contact your collection office and inform them of the delay. If you've given your flight number and this flight is delayed, Global will usually wait for the flight but you're still advised to contact them to check if this will be possible.
If you're due to arrive at the end of the day, we recommend that you arrive at least 20 minutes before closing time or risk being charged the Out Of Hours fee (€35) for service after closing time.
Insurance and Cover
Included in the price
This product includes Collision Damage Waiver (CDW) with Theft Protection and Third Party Liability Cover. This means that you are insured for damage to or theft of the vehicle and also against any third party claims. Should there be a claim, you will be liable up to the value of the excess payment unless additional insurance is taken out.
All vehicles come with basic roadside assistance with vehicle replacement (in event of breakdown).
In any situation, you are not covered for damage or loss as a result of violating the conditions set out in your rental agreement.
Some parts of the vehicle are not covered by your insurance including damage to tyres, glass, exterior mirrors, underside, interior, roof, engine, damage to the locks and loss of vehicle keys. You may take out extra cover on our site of at the collection desk for many of these exclusions.
There is a kn230 HRK administration fee to be paid following any damages.
The standard breakdown cover does not include issues where you are at fault (like using the wrong fuel, locked keys, flat battery or being unable to change a tyre). You can buy extended breakdown cover at the collection desk.
This vehicle comes with basic cover for theft or damage to the vehicle. Should there be any damage, you will be liable for up to 7320 HRK
inclusive of taxes. If this is a problem, you can select a vehicle that includes Global's premium cover to reduce your excess to zero.
Please pay attention to the procedure for reporting an incident which will be explained in your rental agreement at the collection desk. Failing to follow this procedure could result in you being liable for the full value of the claim.
Your vehicle will be supplied on a "Level to Level" basis - it will be supplied with at least 1/4 of a tank (or even 1/8 tank in Turkey) and should be returned with the same level of fuel to avoid extra charges. There are no service charges for refuelling but the missing fuel will be charged at a higher than normal rate.
If you would prefer not to have to fill-up your vehicle when returning it, other options are available. Please mention this at the collection desk.
Additional drivers can be added on our site or at the time of collection. See our extras page (once your vehicle has been selected) for pricing. Prices reman the same for young drivers.
The same age and license conditions listed for the lead driver will also apply to each additional driver.
When driving in Croatia, Children under the age of 12 are not allowed to travel in the front except for those aged less than 2 who may be on the front seat but only when in suitable child seat which is rear-facing and the airbag has been deactivated. Children aged 4 or less must use a child seat in the rear of the car. Those aged 5-12 must use the vehicle's 3 point seat belt with booster seat if necessary. Global provide infant, child and booster seats.
GPS navigation and portable WiFi devices are also available.
Between the 15th of November and the 15th of April each year, it is possible to request winter tyres for your vehicle. If these are required, we recommend adding these to your booking and maybe also double checking with Global prior to collection to ensure they will be available when you arrive.
All extras are paid for at the collection desk and prices are subject to change.
Delivery and Collection
Global do not provide a vehicle collection/delivery service in Croatia.
Changes to length of rental
On returning the vehicle you will have a 59 minute grace period for late returns before you may be charged for a whole, additional day's rental. If you decide to return the vehicle much earlier than the booked return date and time, there will be no extra charge for this but nor will you be refunded for any unused days.
To extend your rental once you're in possesion of the vehicle, you can simply phone your Global office who will check availability for you.
It is free to cancel your booking at any time until 48 hours before collecting the vehicle. Once within 48 hours of collection, you will not be able to cancel your booking and any payments made cannot be refunded.
If you wish to make changes to your booking, you will most likely be required to cancel and rebook. There is no cost for cancellations. If you only wish to change your flight or phone number, you can email our customer services team on firstname.lastname@example.org.
Refunds after vehicle collection
The suppler may refuse collection of your vehicle for reasons such as not being fit to drive, missing required identification or not having the correc type of payment card in the lead driver's name with sufficient funds available. In the event of such a refusal, no payments made will be refunded.
The supplier does not offer credit or refunds for early returns of the vehicle.
In the event of "Delayed Charges" (fines, motorway tolls, failing to refuel, extra days, damages, loss and any associated admin charges), your Security Deposit may only be part-refunded.
Unless we indicate a "guaranteed model", vehicles are reserved by class of vehicle and not by make and model. The vehicles displayed are the commonly used models for our partners in your chosen country. If that particular vehicle is not available, the supplier will typically offer another vehicle of the same or higher class at no additional cost.
If you are travelling with disabled passengers, be sure to forward your confirmation email to email@example.com with any special requirements and we will forward these to the supplier for you. We can't offer any guarantees that they will be able to help but we're happy to try. If you're collecting from an airport, providing your flight number will help.
