When collecting the vehicle, the lead driver must present the following:
- Driver's license
(If your license is not written in English, an International Drivers License or certified English translation is also required).
- Credit or debit* card in the lead driver's name (Visa, Mastercard or American Express onlyl).
- Booking confirmation email
(No need to print this, may be shown on your phone)
* When paying by debit card, you will need to ensure you have enough funds to pay the $3,000 AUD deposit or you will need to take out JUCY's zero-excess (and zero deposit) cover.
When collecting your vehicle you will be required to leave a security deposit
on your payment card.
Security Deposit - $3000 AUD
Full to full:
Each vehicle is supplied with a full tank of fuel and should be returned full at the end of your rental. If the vehicle is not returned with a full tank, you will be charged for the missing fuel PLUS a $25 AUD service charge.
All JUCY vehicles come with unlimited kilometres.
For JUCY at Adelaide Airport, they ask that you wait until you have cleared customs and collected your luggage before phoning 1800 150 850 and selecting Option 1 to request our free shuttle service.
The JUCY shuttle bus will meet you at the shuttle bus collection point.To get there, walk out of the terminal and across the plaza to the left past the taxi rank, and wait by the red mail box.
When collecting the car, the lead and any additional drivers must present their full, valid driver's license. Photocopies are not accepted.
There is no requirement to have had your license for a minimum period.
Each driver must be at least 18 years of age. If your license is not written in English, you will also require an accredited English translation or an International Driver's License.
JUCY requires that the lead driver presents a valid credit/debit card in their name when the vehicle is collected. Only Visa, MasterCard and American Express are accepted. Diners Club and cheques are not accepted. Visa / Mastercard transactions are subject to a 1.87% transaction fee; for AMEX this is 4% - only those paying with cash or via EFTPOS are exempt from this.
If paying by debit card, please make sure that you are able to leave the $3000 AUD bond/deposit payment. If you cannot, you will be forced to take out zero-excess cover at the collection desk. If this may be a problem, look to include JUCY's zero-excess (and zero-deposit) product as part of your booking.
Please ensure that the card does not expire until after the vehicle is returned and that it has been cleared by your bank for use in Australia.
Once your paperwork has been inspected, you will be asked to sign a Rental Agreement. This is a contract between you and the car hire company and contains the terms and conditions for your rental. The agreement may include some location-specific conditions as well as setting out the limitations of any cover you have and the extra costs you may be liable for. You will be given the keys once you and any additional drivers have signed the agreement but don't rush, once you've signed you are legally bound to the terms of that document.
JUCY ask that all customers arrive at least 30 minutes prior to closing time to collect their vehicle. For campervans they recommend allowing 45-60 mins.
If you are late, JUCY will hold your vehicle for up to 24 hours after your scheduled collection time before the booking will be classed as a no-show and cancelled. If you now expect to arrive close to or after closing time, you must phone your collection office and make them aware of your expected arrival time. If they are able to remain open, there will be an Out Of Hours service charge or, if not, you will be asked to collect the vehicle the following day.
Insurance and Cover
Included in the price
This product includes Collision Damage Waiver (CDW) with Theft Protection and Third Party Liability Cover. This means that you are insured for damage to or theft of the vehicle and also against any third party claims.
Should there be a claim, you will be liable up to the full value of the excess amount unless additional cover is taken out.
The vehicle also comes with 24x7 breakdown cover for any unexpected failure of the vehicle.
JUCY's insurance would generally cover you provided you are not doing anything unlawful or negligent.
With only basic insurance you are not covered for damage to front / back / side-panels, to the windscreen and tyres and, if there are any damages, you would also have to pay the Damage Administration Fee ($75 AUD). You can include cover for all of these by choosing to add extra insurance..
One other notable exception is that if the vehicle is involved in a single-vehicle rollover, or the roof (including rooftop luggage pod) of the vehicle is damaged because of any single vehicle incident, the hirer is liable for costs up to $5000 AUD. You can purchase additional cover for this at the collection desk.
The standard breakdown cover will not cover the costs for any callouts where you are at fault (such as mis-fuelling, locked/lost keys) or for issues related to the vehicle's tyres.
The vehicle should not be used in any offroad conditions including unsealed/unformed roads (being a road not sealed with hard material such as tar, bitumen or concrete), fire trails, beaches, sand, tracks, fields or paddocks. The only exception to this is reasonable use of access roads to recognised commercial campgrounds up to 12 kilometres.
The full list of conditions will be supplied in your Rental Agreement when you collect your vehicle.
This vehicle comes with basic cover for theft or damage to the vehicle. Should there be any damage, you will be liable for
up to $3000 AUD (inclusive of taxes).
If you would like to remove this risk, look to add extra cover as part of your booking.
Please pay attention to the procedure for reporting an incident which will be explained in your rental agreement at the collection desk. Failing to follow this procedure could result in you being liable for the full value of the claim.
JUCY Rentals supply all vehicles on a full to full basis. If you return the vehicle and it is not full, you will be charged for the missing fuel PLUS a $25 AUD service charge.
(JUCY do allow you to pre-pay your tank so that you don't need to return the vehicle full but there's no benefit to doing it this way - you still pay the $25 service charge and, worse still, you are not refunded for any fuel that you didn't use).
In the interests of safety, JUCY charge only $2 AUD per driver, per day to add an additional driver to your booking. Each driver will need to show their driver's license and be present to sign the rental agreement when you collect the vehicle.
For those with young children, please be aware of the child seat laws in Australia which are as follows. 0-5 months: must be in a rear-facing child seat placed in the rear of the vehicle; 6 months - 3 years: child seat with harness; 4-7 years: child seat or booster seat
Depending on the location, JUCY usually offer baby capsules (0-6 months), baby seats (6 months – 4 years) and booster seats (4-7 years). Our extras page lists the seats available at your chosen location where you can add them to your booking.
Oher extras include GPS, Snow Chains (selected states in winter) and Roof Racks (includes 2 luggage straps). Unique to JUCY, you can also book camping tables and chairs.
JUCY ask that all extras be booked in advance.
Delivery and Collection
JUCY are unable to deliver or collect vehicles away from their offices.
Changes to length of rental
On returning the vehicle you will have a 2 hour grace period for late returns before you will be charged for a whole, additional day's rental PLUS up to $500 AUD as an Unauthorised Extension Fee.
If you decide to return the vehicle much earlier than the booked return date and time, there will be no extra charge for this but nor will you be refunded for any unused days.
If you wish to extend your rental after you have collected the vehicle, you can contact the JUCY reservations team to check availability. There is no need to return to the office - this can be done over the phone.
It is free to cancel your booking at any time until 48 hours before collecting the vehicle. Once within 48 hours of collection, you will not be able to cancel your booking and any payments made cannot be refunded.
If you wish to make changes to your booking, you will most likely be required to cancel and rebook. There is no cost for cancellations. If you only wish to change your flight or phone number, you can email our customer services team on email@example.com.
Refunds after vehicle collection
The suppler may refuse collection of your vehicle for reasons such as not being fit to drive, missing required identification or not having the correc type of payment card in the lead driver's name with sufficient funds available. In the event of such a refusal, no payments made will be refunded.
The supplier does not offer credit or refunds for early returns of the vehicle.
In the event of "Delayed Charges" (fines, motorway tolls, failing to refuel, extra days, damages, loss and any associated admin charges), your Security Deposit may only be part-refunded.
Unless we indicate a "guaranteed model", vehicles are reserved by class of vehicle and not by make and model. The vehicles displayed are the commonly used models for our partners in your chosen country. If that particular vehicle is not available, the supplier will typically offer another vehicle of the same or higher class at no additional cost.
If you are travelling with disabled passengers, be sure to forward your confirmation email to firstname.lastname@example.org with any special requirements and we will forward these to the supplier for you. We can't offer any guarantees that they will be able to help but we're happy to try. If you're collecting from an airport, providing your flight number will help.
