When collecting the vehicle, the lead driver must present the following:
- Valid driver's license
(If your license contains non-Latin characters and/or is issued outside the EU, an International Driver's Permit is also required).
- Passport or National Identity Card
- Credit or debit card in the lead driver's name (Visa, Mastercard or AMEX* only)
- Home and local (hotel, villa etc) address
- Booking confirmation email
* American Express cards may only be used if you also take out Record Go's "Total Comfort Cover".
When collecting your vehicle you will be required to leave a security deposit
on your payment card.
Security Deposit - €0 EUR
When you collect the vehicle it will be full or partially full. You will be billed on collection for the fuel that's in the vehicle. The cost of this is typically between €50 and €135 (depending on vehicle size).
As this is a Full to Full policy you should re-fuel the vehicle prior to return. If you do so, you will be refunded the original fuel charge. Fail to re-fuel to the original level and you will be charged for the missing fuel plus a €30 fuel service charge.
Unlimited - Your vehicle includes unlimited mileage however you must return the vehicle to a Record Go office for inspection before driving
3000km (includes an additional 1000km for choosing Total Comfort Cover).
Failure to do so will result in additional charges extra per kilometre travelled (€2 per km, maximum charge €1,000).
Fees and Taxes
Local fees and taxes are included in this price.
Record Go charge €40 for processing of any fines and a €50 admin fee following any damages.
Go to the office located in the arrivals hall. Once you have the rental agreement, go straight to the right to the end of the lobby, where the lift and stairs are. Go up a floor. Continue along the walkway to the next lift. Go down to floor 3. Access the inside of the car park and you will find the Record go pick-up office.
When collecting the car, the lead and any additional drivers must present their full, valid driver's license. Photocopies are not accepted.
Each driver must have had this license for at least 1 year. All drivers must be at least 19 years of age.
If your driver's license contains characters which are not in the Roman Alphabet, you will also require an International Driver's License.
Standard forms of payment are Visa and Mastercard credit or debit card. As you have selected a product which includes Record's Total Comfort Cover, an American Express credit card can also be used.
If you choose to pay by debit card, be aware that the full security deposit will be withdrawn from your account and will only be refunded when you return the vehicle. This refund process can sometimes take 4-7 days to process.
No other forms of payment (cash, cheque, pre-payment cards) are accepted. Check that the card will not expire prior to your return date.
Once your paperwork has been inspected, you will be asked to sign a Rental Agreement. This is a contract between you and the car hire company and contains the terms and conditions for your rental. The agreement may include some location-specific conditions as well as setting out the limitations of any cover you have and the extra costs you may be liable for. You will be given the keys once you and any additional drivers have signed the agreement but don't rush, once you've signed you are legally bound to the terms of that document.
Cross Border Rules
Record Go offer a Cross Border extra which, when hiring from mainland Spain, will allow travel into France, Portugal, Gibraltar and Andorra only (ferry travel not permitted). The cross border extra is purchased at the collection desk and will cost €9 per day / Minimum of €18 / Maximum of €90
Ferry travel is permitted when collecting from one of the Balearic islands where you may travel between Ibiza and Palma de Mallorca only.
If driving into Portugal, we advise that you purchase a temporary electronic toll tag at the border in order to simplify your driving through Portuguese toll roads.
If you are late to collect your car, Record Go will hold you car for you for 1 hour after which your bookng may be cancelled. You can avoid this by contacting your Record Go collection office prior to your scheduled collection time and advise them of the delay. If you are late due to a flight delay, Record Go will also hold the car for you provided that you've provided a valid flight number as part of your booking.
You should always contact your collection branch if you expect to arrive beyond normal closing time to ensure that they can remain open for you. Any collections outside normal opening hours will incur a €40 out of hours charge regardless of the reason.
Insurance and Cover
Included in the price
This product includes Collision Damage Waiver (CDW) with Theft Protection and Third Party Liability Cover. This means that you are insured for damage to or theft of the vehicle and also against any third party claims.
You have also selected to include Record's top insurance product (known as 'Total Comfort Cover') meaning that you are additionally covered for damage to tyres, wheels, mirrors, locks and windows with
no excess. This also includes Premium Roadside Assistance which provides free call out, roadside repairs and towing of the vehicle where required.
In any situation, you are not covered for damage or loss as a result of violating the conditions set out in your rental agreement.
Even with Total Comfort Cover, be aware that you are not covered for mis-fueling, special cleaning, loss of the keys/number plates or damage to the clutch, engine, upholstery or extra equipment.

With Total Comfort Cover included, the excess on this vehicle has been reduced to €0. Be aware that you may still be liable if it is deemed that the damage/theft was caused through negligence.
Please pay attention to the procedure for reporting an incident which will be explained in your rental agreement at the collection desk. Failing to follow this procedure could result in you being liable for the full value of the claim.
Depending on the supplier, you will typically have two choices when it comes to paying for fuel.
- Full to Full: This is usually the most cost effective option. The vehicle will be fuill when you collect and you must fill it up again just prior to return. If you select this policy and do not re-fill the vehicle, the supplier will charge you for the fuel you have used at a price that is often higher than would be charged at a local service station.
- Pre-paid: This is the most convenient option. You pre-pay your tank of fuel (including a service charge) which means you collect the vehicle full and can return it empty at no extra charge. Note that you will not be refunded for fuel you do not use. Some suppliers give us the "pre-paid" rate where we include this in your price but usually we offer "Full to Full" and you would ask to pre-pay your tank at the collection desk.
The vehicle you have selected is Full to Full
There is no need to pre-book additional drivers as they can be added at the collection desk.
The cost is €7 per driver, per day with a maximum charge of €84.
Young (19-24) or senior (70+) drivers will be charged more.
When driving in Spain, any child who is under 12 years old or less than 135cm (4ft 5in) must use a child seat in the rear of the car. Record Go provide the following:
- Baby Seats (0..9kg)
- Child Seats (9..18kg)
- Booster Seats (18..36kg)
Child seats cost €8.95 per day to a maximum of €107.40. You will be responsible for installing the seat.
Other extras to be offered include:
- Cross Border Travel (€9 per day)
- Additional Drivers (€7 per day)
- "Go Pad" (7" tablet combining GPS and an unlimited data, mobile hotspot for up to 5 devices) (€8.95 per day)
All extras are paid for at the collection desk and prices are subject to change.
Changes to length of rental
On returning the vehicle you will have a 1 hour grace period for late returns before you will be charged for a whole, additional day's rental PLUS a €40 per day late return fee. If you decide to return the vehicle much earlier than the booked return date and time, there will be no extra charge for this but nor will you be refunded for any unused days.
Record Go do not allow customers to extend their rental; a new booking is required.
It is free to cancel your booking at any time until 48 hours before collecting the vehicle. Once within 48 hours of collection, you will not be able to cancel your booking and any payments made cannot be refunded.
If you wish to make changes to your booking, you will most likely be required to cancel and rebook. There is no cost for cancellations. If you only wish to change your flight or phone number, you can email our customer services team on firstname.lastname@example.org.
Refunds after vehicle collection
The suppler may refuse collection of your vehicle for reasons such as not being fit to drive, missing required identification or not having the correc type of payment card in the lead driver's name with sufficient funds available. In the event of such a refusal, no payments made will be refunded.
The supplier does not offer credit or refunds for early returns of the vehicle.
In the event of "Delayed Charges" (fines, motorway tolls, failing to refuel, extra days, damages, loss and any associated admin charges), your Security Deposit may only be part-refunded.
Unless we indicate a "guaranteed model", vehicles are reserved by class of vehicle and not by make and model. The vehicles displayed are the commonly used models for our partners in your chosen country. If that particular vehicle is not available, the supplier will typically offer another vehicle of the same or higher class at no additional cost.
If you are travelling with disabled passengers, be sure to forward your confirmation email to email@example.com with any special requirements and we will forward these to the supplier for you. We can't offer any guarantees that they will be able to help but we're happy to try. If you're collecting from an airport, providing your flight number will help.
