When collecting the vehicle, the lead driver must present the following:
- Driver's License
(For drivers who do no have a license from a European country, you must bring both your license and an International Driver's Permit)
- Credit card in the lead driver's name
(Visa and Mastercard only).

(No need to print this, may be shown on your phone)
When collecting your vehicle you will be required to leave a security deposit
on your payment card.
Security Deposit - €750 EUR
Your fuel options will be explained on collection. As a general rule you will save money choosing 'Full to Full' and filling the vehicle up yourself prior to its return.
This vehicle comes with unlimited kilometres. Travel to other countires, between islands or on ferries is not permitted.
Fees and Taxes
VAT, municipality taxes and contract fees are included in this price.
Admin fees: Please also be aware that most suppliers charge administration fees following damages or for processing fines. Surprice Greece charge a €15 handling fee for following any damages and also €15 for each parking/traffic infringement.
Delivery and Collection
Surprice provide a service to have your vehicle delivered to or collected from your hotel.
Hotel deliveries and collections within the city limits are free of charge. The service is also available outside city limits but there will be a service charge. The usual out of city charge is €18.60 for distances of up to 25km or €37.20 if further away. Costs can vary by location. Once you have made your booking you will be given contact details for your collection office who will be able to confirm costs and make the arrangements for your booking.
Surprice have provided the following directions to help you find the rental counter:
Meet our representative outside Exit 5(arrivals hall) and then you will be transferred by shuttle bus to our office.
When collecting the car, the lead and any additional drivers must present their full, valid driver's license. Photocopies are not accepted. All drivers must be at least 21 years of age and you must have had your license for at least 1 year prior to collection.
Your license must have been issued in a European country or, for non-European drivers, you will need your license PLUS an International Driver's Permit.
Surprice only accept Visa and Mastercard credit cards. The card must be in the lead driver's name and cannot expire before the end of your rental. No other forms of payment (cash, cheque, debit or pre-payment cards) are accepted.
Once your paperwork has been inspected, you will be asked to sign a Rental Agreement. This is a contract between you and the car hire company and contains the terms and conditions for your rental. The agreement may include some location-specific conditions as well as setting out the limitations of any cover you have and the extra costs you may be liable for. You will be given the keys once you and any additional drivers have signed the agreement but don't rush, once you've signed you are legally bound to the terms of that document.
Cross Border Rules
Surprice do not allow their vehicles to be taken outside the country, between islands or on ferries.
If you're due to arrive at the end of the day, we recommend that you arrive at least 20 minutes before closing time or risk being charged the Out Of Hours fee (€25) for service after closing time.
If you are delayed and will be more than 2 hours late for collection or arriving near to closing time, Surprice ask that you contact your collection office and inform them of the delay or your booking may be cancelled. This also applies for customers arriving at an airport whose flight has been delayed. If the delay take you past normal closing time, you may be asked to collect the vehicle the following day.
Insurance and Cover
Included in the price
This product includes Collision Damage Waiver (CDW) with Theft Protection, Fire Protection and Third Party Liability Cover. This means that you are insured for damage to or theft of the vehicle and also against any third party claims but you will pay an excess on any claims.
Surprice rentals include Personal Accident Insurance for the lead driver in event of death, disablement and medical costs.
All vehicles come with basic roadside assistance with vehicle replacement (in event of breakdown).
In any situation, you are not covered for damage or loss as a result of violating the conditions set out in your rental agreement.
Some parts of the vehicle are not covered by your insurance including the underneath and roof of the vehicle, clutch, glass, mirrors, tyres and wheels.
There is a €15 EUR administration fee to be paid following any damages.
This vehicle comes with basic cover for theft or damage to the vehicle. Should there be any damage, you will be liable for up to €750 inclusive of taxes. If this is a problem, you can select a vehicle that includes Surprice's premium cover to reduce your excess to €0.
Please pay attention to the procedure for reporting an incident which will be explained in your rental agreement at the collection desk. Failing to follow this procedure could result in you being liable for the full value of the claim.
All Surprice vehicles are supplied on a Level to Level basis. There is no option to pre-pay your tank. All customers must return the vehicle to the same level of fuel or you will pay for the missing fuel PLUS a €15 service charge.
There is no need to pre-book additional drivers as they can be added at the collection desk. Each driver will need to bring their driver's license and pay for Additional Driver Insurance which costs €4 per day (VAT included). Young (21-23) and senior (73+) drivers must pay an extra age supplement on top of this (€10 per day). There is no maximum number of additional drivers that can be added.
Please be aware tha Surprice do not allow extras to be reserved. They are all subject to availability only. That said, they do assure us that they rarely run out ot any extras. We suggest you contact your rental office a few days prior to arrival to confirm the availability of any essential items.
When driving in Greece, any child who is less than 11 years or 135cm tall must use a child restraint appropriate to their size.. Surprice provide infant, child and booster seats.
Other extras to be offered include GPS navigation, Mobile Data (wifi) and snow chains.
All extras are paid for at the collection desk and prices are subject to change.
Delivery and Collection
Surprice do provide a vehicle delivery and collection service. Throughout most of Greece this service is free within city limits where Surprice have an office (excluding Athens and Thessaloniki). If outside city limits the service costs €18..60 each way for all locations that are up to 25km away or €37.20 if further away (max 100km). In Athens and Thessaloniki this service costs €25.
This service can be arranged once you have made your booking by emailing or phoning your Surprice office. We recommend organising this at least 2 working days beforehand.
Changes to length of rental
On returning the vehicle you will have a 2 hour grace period for late returns before you will be charged for a whole, additional day's rental. If you decide to return the vehicle much earlier than the booked return date and time, there will be no extra charge for this but nor will you be refunded for any unused days.
To extend your rental once you're in possesion of the vehicle, you must drive to your nearest Surprice office so that availability can be checked and payment taken.
It is free to cancel your booking at any time until 48 hours before collecting the vehicle. Once within 48 hours of collection, you will not be able to cancel your booking and any payments made cannot be refunded.
If you wish to make changes to your booking, you will most likely be required to cancel and rebook. There is no cost for cancellations. If you only wish to change your flight or phone number, you can email our customer services team on firstname.lastname@example.org.
Refunds after vehicle collection
The suppler may refuse collection of your vehicle for reasons such as not being fit to drive, missing required identification or not having the correc type of payment card in the lead driver's name with sufficient funds available. In the event of such a refusal, no payments made will be refunded.
The supplier does not offer credit or refunds for early returns of the vehicle.
In the event of "Delayed Charges" (fines, motorway tolls, failing to refuel, extra days, damages, loss and any associated admin charges), your Security Deposit may only be part-refunded.
Unless we indicate a "guaranteed model", vehicles are reserved by class of vehicle and not by make and model. The vehicles displayed are the commonly used models for our partners in your chosen country. If that particular vehicle is not available, the supplier will typically offer another vehicle of the same or higher class at no additional cost.
If you are travelling with disabled passengers, be sure to forward your confirmation email to email@example.com with any special requirements and we will forward these to the supplier for you. We can't offer any guarantees that they will be able to help but we're happy to try. If you're collecting from an airport, providing your flight number will help.
